Uses of Telehealth

Purpose
Stefano, et al., 2014 found the following:
• Learning from direct experience can be more effective if coupled with reflection-that is, the intentional attempt to synthesize, abstract, and articulate the key lessons taught by experience.
• Reflecting on what has been learned makes experience more productive.
• Reflection builds one’s confidence in the ability to achieve a goal (i.e., self-efficacy), which in turn translates into higher rates of learning.
The purpose of this self-reflection assignment is to help you integrate what you are learning from the module into your professional practice.
Task
Describe the basics of what is telehealth, the benefits and how will you get comfortable with the use of telehealth in your training and as you move forward in your new profession. As you ponder this, reflect on your readings.

  1. What did you think about the use of Avatars for to allow patients to protect their privacy?
  2. How will you insure you are using a HIPAA compliant platform?
  3. How does this relate to your professional practice?
  4. Your total reflection should be no less than 500 words. Submit your written work here in the text box or as a file upload (doc, docx, or pdf).
