You must answer all questions listed below in the 5-page essay. Please read the rubric first and then write the paper. Once you are done writing the paper then check it against the rubric to make sure you answer all the questions.
You can make up the answers to all of the questions below based on your teaching experience. If you have any questions, please let me know? Thank you!
Task 5: Reflection on Teaching and Professional Growth: What did you learn from this teaching experience? In an essay of 5 pages, respond to the following:
• Reflect critically on your teaching practice by referring to recorded teaching videos, journals and other data:
o How and why did you make your instructional choices?
o How did your own cultural and linguistic background come into play in the planning, teaching or assessment of this unit? With your interactions with the students?
o How might you improve? Given what you have learned from your assessments, how would you plan for a re-teaching? What research and other resources would you use to support your decision?

• Reflect on the children’s learning. Provide specific evidence from assessment data and artifacts gathered above.
o What goals for instruction did they reach? Where did their learning seem to fall short? Why? Give specific examples.
o How might your students’ cultural and linguistic backgrounds have influenced their engagement with the lessons? Give specific examples.
o What surprised you about what took place in this unit? What did not surprise you? Did it meet, exceed or fall short of your expectations? Explain.
