You performed a SWOT analysis and a Gemba walk in the Competency 2 assessment. Now, you will use the information you gathered to

Determine the root causes of the issues you found
Create a strategy proposal aimed at addressing those issues

Create either a Five Whys or a Fish bone diagram for each of the opportunities (3 short-term and 1 long-term) that you identified during your Gemba walk. Work through each step of the Five Whys or Fish bone process to find the root cause(s) of each problem and a potential opportunity to solve it.

Review your SWOT analysis from Competency 2 alongside your Five Whys or Fish bone diagram. Focus on the bigger picture of your organisation’s overall strategy in terms of the strengths and opportunities you identified.

Prepare a 500- to 700-word strategy proposal that identifies 3 key organisation strengths. Describe the role these strengths could play in pursuing 3 key opportunities that fit your organisation’s overall strategy.

Identify the following in your strategy proposal:

Elements of “chaos” (identified through your Five Whys or Fish bone diagram) that can be turned into “butterfly effects” (potential large-scale strategic opportunities for your organisation)
Opportunities for projects that would apply creativity to resolve “chaotic” issues or problems within your organisation
Potential leverage points that will help your organisation build on strengths to take advantage of strategic opportunities

Describe how chaos theory applies to your strategic opportunities.

Prepare a final systems-thinking diagram that focuses on strategic project opportunities for your organization.

Consult 3 reputable references to support your diagram and paper (examples: trade or industry publications, government or agency websites, scholarly works, or other sources of similar quality).
