Students will write a 4- to 5-page scholarly paper that analyzes six of the religions discussed in the course.
In this assignment, you will have an opportunity to apply your understanding of the philosophies and practices of world religions we have explored throughout the course.
So far, we have addressed the following religions:
Indigenous religions (Unit I)
Hinduism (Unit II)
Buddhism (Unit III)
Jainism and Sikhism (Unit IV)
Daoism and Confucianism (Unit V)
Shintoism (Unit VI)
Judaism and Christianity (this unit)
From the list provided, choose six religions. You may only choose one of the religions in units where two were addressed. Then, write a scholarly paper that addresses each of the following:
Explain what each religion studied in this course believes about God/gods/divine beings.
Identify if each religion believes in one God, multiple gods, or no gods at all.
Describe how each religion explains the nature or character of God/gods.
Identify the major practices or rituals of each religion.
Explain how people in each religious tradition practice their beliefs on a daily basis.
Compare and contrast how each religion is similar to other religions.
Your paper should be at least four but no more than five pages in length. A title page, if used, and the reference page do not count toward the page requirement.
You must use at least four peer-reviewed or academic sources; one may be from your textbook, and one must be from the CSU Online Library. Please note that wikis and blogs are not acceptable resources. All sources used must have in-text citations and references properly formatted in APA Style.
