The issue of the low quality of meat that is sold in supermarkets is the reason why I have decided to propose plant-based meat to the market. Meat producers face numerous challenges that force them to use antibiotics and other harmful substances for people’s health. They do so to increase the volume of meat and to preserve its freshness of meat. Livestock does not have enough space for their proper growth. Therefore, they are fed with chemicals. Moreover, the production of meat has a very negative impact on climate. I believe that plant-based meat with a very similar taste is better than meat. With modern technology and research, it is possible to provide all the needed elements for proper body functioning.
The target market is health-conscious adults aged 25-50, with middle and higher-middle income. They expect high quality, assurance in sourcing ingredients, absence of antibiotics, and nutritional value. Target customers also await various flavors and products, such as raw plant-based meat, sausages, and ready proposals for the grill.
The product will be marketed in middle-level local stores because the competition from the meat producers and their lobbying for presence in supermarkets is high. Therefore, I need to build awareness among local customers in specialized grocery stores of smaller sizes to spread positive word of mouth.
Plant-based meat is a new product. The target audience relies heavily on the recommendations of friends and relatives. Therefore, it is better to dedicate and motivate middle-store managers to promote plant-based meat as a tasty and healthier alternative to meat. Gathering with friends and families and grilling something new and delicious is a long-standing tradition. The task is to increase awareness of plant-based meat to change consumption habits.
