You are an in-house I.O. Psychologist for the leading social media company, TwittleBook. The company has the following mission statement:

The fastest growing competitor of TwittleBook, FaceSpace, has recently launched their latest update to their social media platform that provides all of TwittleBook’s features, as well as incorporating the ability of their software to provide real-time reminders to individuals who are either invited to a specific event in their area, or whose previous posts indicate an interest in the activity about to occur in their proximity. Essentially, their application is not only a streaming thread of thoughts and ideas, but it also directs individuals with regard to what events to attend and participate in.

The current corporate structure of TwittleBook is one within which individuals generate ideas, present them at a monthly meeting, and spend the remaining time within each month working, by themselves, to create their idea. You have been tasked with creation and implementation of a team dynamic.

 

The Assignment:

  • Design a course of action to create teams at TwittleBook. Explain what the selection process is for team membership, how the members will connect- face to face, virtual meetings, etc.
  • Explain how the members of the team will be capable of moving a product or idea from start, or idea stage, to finish, or final product stage.
  • Explain the plan for implementation of the team structure
  • Support your ideas with existing academic literature. Include a minimum of 5 sources in addition to the textbook.
