Overview
Professional liability insurance is an important topic to understand as a professional nurse. Professional liability insurance can protect nurses from financial losses if they are sued for a mistake made while providing care to a patient. All nurses should have an understanding about the importance and uses of professional liability insurance. Often, nurses believe that their organizations will protect them from liability incidents and that they will be safe if they correctly follow policies and procedures. These perceptions can expose nurses to situations that result in the loss of their nursing license and financial hardship. In this journal, you will be able to review information about nursing liability insurance and reflect on your personal views.
