Instructions for Outside Presentations
One of my favorite ways to learn is through observation. I can still recall asking Bryce Lane (instructor in Horticulture) if I could watch his class because he was such a phenomenal teacher and presenter. We have all had that feeling of “WOW that was a great presentation” but often we leave with that feeling and never reflect on how we could incorporate some of those components into our presentations. Ah-ha….the purpose of this assignment!
During this semester, you will observe three presentations and complete a written reflection following the criteria outlined below. These presentations must be THREE different types of presentations. For example, you could use a commodity association presentation, religious sermon, and an online TedTalk for your three, but you could not use three TedTalks. If you have a question about the legitimacy of your desired outside presentation, please let your instructor know. Club organization guest speakers are also great for this presentation. The presentation should last longer than 30 minutes.
I would love for two of these to be in-person presentations, if possible.
Format: Your outside presentation reflection paper should be double-spaced, 12-pt font, and approximately two to three pages in length. Please use APA 7 guidelines if citing information.
