Part 1: Literacy Assessment Tools
• Identify & briefly describe the literacy assessment tool you used for this assignment.
• Explain the strengths and limitations of your literacy assessment and how it may help you support students who struggle as well as those who excel in your classroom. Justify your explanation.
• Explain improvements you might make to the literacy assessment to better support academically diverse learners in your classroom.
• Explain what else you still need to know about these literacy learners.

Part 2: Literacy Assessment Data Analysis
• Explain your conclusions about student performance based on the results of the literacy assessment data. Provide examples from the data.
• Identify at least three groups of learning levels from the literacy assessment data. Explain how you might modify instruction for each of these various learning levels to support learners’ strengths and areas for improvement. Justify your rationale.
• Explain how you could use the Literacy Assessment Data Spreadsheet to continue to record and analyze data to monitor student progress and inform instructional planning for all learning levels.

Part 3: Flexible Grouping
• Explain the grouping you currently use in your classroom; include readiness levels, grouping for the content areas, and interest grouping, as well as any other grouping that you may use, and why (e.g., multiple intelligences, learning styles).
• Explain how you will address the reading and writing needs of the struggling learner, the on-level learner, and the high-achieving learner.
• Design appropriate groupings for a literacy activity within a specific content area, based on the data you collected in the Week 1 Literacy Assessment.
o Note: Your literacy activity might include vocabulary development and any other comprehension activities. Explain why you chose to group these students in this manner. Provide examples and use your Learning Resources to support your explanation.
• Explain how RTI, or another intervention program, in your educational setting supports the monitoring of students’ progress in each of the groups and why it is important to do so.
• Explain how you might apply strategies to support high-achieving literacy learners, as well as those who may struggle.
