Chapter 1 Question: Introduction to Law and Governance.
Answer the questions a minimum of 200 words and maximum 300 points.
1.Art. VI of the U.S. Constitution is often referred to as the supremacy clause, making federal law applicable and supreme everywhere. All federal and state officials and public employees (including school leaders and educators) must take an oath of allegiance to the Constitution. What are the implications of this oath of allegiance for educators and how does this play out in schools?
Chapter 2 Question: Children, Families, and the State

The primary federal law addressing student records is the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). This law controls the inspection, amendment, and disclosure of educational records. E. Professor Grace Slick and her doctoral student Janis Joplin wish to conduct a study that will involve recruiting students who are enrolled in UofM’s ACAD 1100 and PHIL 1102 (Intro. to Ethics) and interview them about their opinions about the Peer Empowerment Fellowship Program. F. To do this, they will use pre- and post-test Panorama Student Survey, which features topics like student engagement, pedagogical effectiveness, school climate, and safety.
