Question 3

Your task will be to imagine yourself in the role of a quality improvement (QI) analyst who has been asked to bring information about seven specific outpatient surgery cases (the seven cases are attached). As the QI analyst, you will need to enter this information into an Microsoft® Excel spreadsheet, including the following data elements: medical record number (MRN), gender, body system, date of service, chief complaint, procedure, surgeon, and PCP. Once you have entered this information into the spreadsheet, write a paragraph (5–6 sentences) identifying any trends or common themes in the information.
