Human Condition

In this essay, you will explore two author’s treatment of the human condition. You may choose E.B. White’s “A Ring Of Time,” OR George Orwell’s ” A Hanging,” both of which we will read and discuss in class, plus one other work by another author. For each author, you will discuss two different aspects of the human condition in your authors works. Some writer’s techniques that may come into your discussion of each work are: Personal anecdote, metaphor, symbolism/imagery, description, historical perspective, political overtones.

Paragraph 1: Introduction: Briefly describe both works and the aspects of the human condition you will address (thesis)

Paragraph 3: First element of human condition for first authors work
Paragraph 4:Second element of human condition for first author’s work.
Paragraph 5: Brief biography of second author
Paragraph 6: First element of human condition for second authors work
Paragraph 7: Second element of human condition for second authors work.
Paragraph 8: Relate these aspects of the human condition briefly to your own life
Paragraph 9: Summarizing conclusion
