Task 2 Individual Case Study Development

The challenge is to develop a case study incorporating the knowledge gained in Task 1, wherein the exercise will be actualized through individual literature search of a phenomenon for the development of an actual case study. The case study development task will have 2 individual written assessments nested in a single assignment.

1st: written literature review report of minimum 1500 words (Assessment 3) covering the phenomenon or themes that the real case study expounds. 2nd: write up the case study of minimum 2000 words which should illustrate the themes within its context (Assessment 4).

In total, the maximum word limit for both assessment should not exceed 5000 words (excluding references). Assessment 3 & 4, as a single document will be submitted in week 12 at the assignment dropbox on 3rd floor in Block B.

Assessment 3: supporting Case Study Literature (Individual) – written submission (20%) – 1500 words This assessment is based on the literature review for the case study you chose for Assessment 4. Based on the unit theme of justice and fairness, and the weekly themes, discuss literature in support of the case study.

The literature review conducted in Assessment 3 is nested in Assessment 4, and they are both based on the strength of the literature that support the case study. The topics should answer some of the following questions:

1. How is justice and fairness, as an overarching theme in international business strategy, viewed in the case study? (5%)

2. How is business sustainability viewed in the case study? (5%)

3. What are the various themes/phenomenon observed in the case study? Apply as many of the weekly lecture themes. (5%)

4. Develop a conceptual framework for analyzing the case study using question 1 to 3. (5%)

Assessment 4: Case Study Development (Individual) – written submission (40%) – 2000 words PLUS 1500 words from Assessment 3 Develop a written case study of a Malaysian company or a well-known international firm that has global operations covering a period of at least 5 years. Students unable to find a suitable case study topic or wanting 13 a topic to be provided will select a suitable topic from a list provided by the tutor.
