Solve efficiency of organic thin film solar cell. preferably with plasmonic nano-particles.
Third generation solar cells
Solar cells are key to provide clean, reliable energy. However, future generations of high efficiency solar cells require cheaper production. Organic thin film solar cells are much cheaper. Buffer layers need to be developed to resist the high temperatures required to deposit the thin film onto a substrate. To solve efficiency problems, the project is to solve the optical generation rate for different cell structures eg. cells textured with upright pyramids, covered with various anti-reflection coatings, and having different thicknesses and different metal and dielectric layers on the rear side. Plasmonic nanoparticles can improve its efficiency too.
