Instructions: Please use and submit your responses to the following questions on this worksheet.
Problem 1: Demonstration: Based on your review of the video lecture and the short How-to Jamovi video, run a frequency distribution on the variable RELITEN based on GSS data for 2012. Note, when running the frequency on RELITEN, you might need to “clean-up” the missing values by using the Data Setup routine. Review the short Jamovi video for those steps. Copy and paste your Jamovi results, here:
Problem 2: Data Preparation and Data Cleaning: Based on your review of the video lecture and the short How-to Jamovi video, run a frequency distribution on the variable RELITEN based now on GSS data for 2018. Note, when running the frequency on RELITEN, you might need to “clean-up” the missing values by using the Data Setup routine. Review the short Jamovi video for those steps. Copy and paste your Jamovi results, here:
Problem 3: Frequency Distributions, Reporting Results: Based upon your review of the “Rules of Writing” for this module and, based upon the guidance from the video lecture and power point presentation, write-up your findings (frequencies) on RELITEN for 2012 and 2018 GSS Data. Your write-up should be between 200 and 300 words and, be sure to discuss issues of reliability and validity in attempting to measure “strength of religious faith,” as you point the direction for future research.
Problem 4: Frequency Distributions: Based on your review of the power point presentation and the short How-to Jamovi video, run a frequency distribution on the variable GUNLAW based on GSS data for 2012. Next, run the analysis again but this time using GSS data for 2018. Remember, you might need to clean the data of “missing values’ before posting your frequencies. Copy and paste frequency tables for GUNLAW for 2012 and 2018 in the space below:
Problem 5: Frequency Distributions, Reporting Results: Based on the frequency distributions on the variable GUNLAW for 2012 and 2018, complete the following table to summarize your findings. Note: be sure to include the number of cases (n=) in the table title for 2012 and 2018 data. Remember, the number of cases can be found in the “Descriptives” table just above the frequency table.
Next: From your review of the “Rules of Writing” for this module and, from upon the guidance from the video lecture and power point presentation, write-up your findings (frequencies) on GUNLAW for 2012 and 2018 GSS Data. Your write-up should be between 200 and 300 words and, be sure to discuss issues of reliability and validity in attempting to measure one’s “position on gun control,” as you point the direction for future research.
