1. Imagine you are the HR director of a foreign company subsidiary in your country. In what major HR areas would you consider to be in a better position than your bosses at the headquarters to decide on policies and practices in the subsidiary?

2. Explain the main HRM models and in your home country do companies have an HRM department and if yes, which HRM model do they usually follow?

3. Some researchers talk about ‘reverse culture shock’ experienced by foreign assignees on their return home at the end of a spell of expatriation. What do you think reverse culture shock means and how can it be avoided or reduced?
