Environmental Systems Theories

1.Review the three family environmental systems theories: Vygotsky’s Sociocultural theory, Bronfenbrenner’s Bioecological theory, and the Family Systems Theory discussed throughout the text book.
2. Chose one of the following issues:
Same-sex parents, grandparents as caregivers, death of parent, family with special needs children, divorce, deployed parents, foster care, or adoption and its impact on young children. (You may also choose any other topic related to families if approved by the professor.)
3. Research the chosen issue online.
4. Write a three-page paper
•Describing the topic – incidence, how this type of situation may have come about, challenges families may face, etc.
•analyzing the chosen issue within the context of each of the three theories,
•describing the family engagement practices that you will use to work with families with the school setting
•discussing what knowledge and skills you have obtained from the research
•how it has furthered your professional development
•how you might share this knowledge with your colleagues and families
