Cite a news/current media story, movie clip, or other media (i.e., music, art, poem etc.) that portrays an example of one criminological theory that has already been reviewed in the course. Write a 1-2 page essay including a summary of the media you used, and how it may connect to a criminal theory. Explain the criminal theory, its key concepts, and mechanisms. Conclude by using examples from the media to support your argument.
For example, the Disney Pixar film Zootopia is a great example of labeling theory. The first section should provide a brief summary of the movie Zootopia and close with my argument that it would tie in well with labeling theory. The second section should include the key components of labeling theory and how it may explain crime or deviant behavior. The third section should incorporate key examples from the movie Zootopia to support my argument. For instance, throughout the film, carnivorous animals are treated with some apprehension, especially the fox, because he is assumed to be sly, mischievous, and cunning due to his breed. As a result, many people treat him harshly and expect him to commit crime. The fox internalizes these assumptions and, rather than fight them, he embraces these assumptions and commits various petty crimes, as is proposed in labeling theory.
Note: You cannot use Zootopia as your media reference in your essays, as I have just provided it as an example.
Your essay must reference/cite and incorporate either the lecture or the assigned readings in order to earn credit.
Submissions will be graded using the same criteria as the Module 0 essay.

o You need to cite and discuss course materials (i.e., lecture, readings etc.)
o Your example/data/research should also be accurately cited and included in references.
o Simply Psychology, Wikepedia, or other instructional webpages are not allowed. You MUST use media such as news stories, movies, music etc. Contact your instructor if you are unsure if what you are using is acceptable.
The example must be original and not one already presented in the course’s learning materials.
