Clinical Formative and Summative Assessments

Assessment Guidelines

  1. Assessment Brief

This assessment brief outlines both formative and summative assessments, providing you with opportunities to evaluate your progress and receive support for your final submission. Our team will facilitate peer reviews and formative submissions to help you succeed in your summative assignment.

  1. Formative Assessment

You will have access to four key strands of formative assessment to assist in planning the structure and content of your work:

● Self-Appraisal Tools: These tools will help you evaluate your progress as you transition to becoming a registered nurse.
● End of session Plenary: These will allow you to understand how each session contributes to your overall development.
● Facilitated Peer Support: Collaborate with classmates to review your progress and gain insights through peer feedback.
● Formative Assessment: Submit a draft for the session lead to review and provide feedback to guide your final submission.

These formative assessments are designed to support your development and ensure you are well-prepared for the summative assessment.

  1. Summative Assessment

This module has two assessment components. To pass the module you must achieve a minimum grade of 40% in each component. If you receive a grade of 39% or below you will be awarded a resit grade for the module. You will have the opportunity to resit the component(s) you did not pass and receive a capped grade of 40P for the component(s).

All university assessment regulations will be followed. Please ensure you are aware of these, for example late submission; exceptional circumstances; academic misconduct; plagiarism and collusion.
