JR is a 70 yr old male with HTN, hyperlipidemia, h/o CABG,( Coronary artery bypass graft surgery)is coming to his well care visit complaining of some shortness of breath (cannot walk as far as he used to). His medications are as follows: Aspirin 81 mg po daily, Lisinopril 10mg po daily, Carvedilol 12.5 mg po BID, Furosemide 20mg po daily, Spironolactone 25mg po daily, and Atorvastatin 80 mg po daily.

  1. Please discuss each drug from the viewpoint of the pathophysiology, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics’.
  2. Discuss each medication including the rationale for drug selection based on how the medication works in conjunction with the patient’s diagnosis and stage of CHF.
