Remember to include the types of information required of a structured abstract (as listed in Lang, 2010, p. 106). Figure 5.3 provides a specific example.
After reading the materials on abstracts (Lang, 2010; Taylor, 2008; and the PowerPoint from Purdue), write a structured abstract for one of the reports of original research provided in this folder. Create the abstract according to APA guidelines for font and formatting. The abstract should be 500 words or less. Include a title page with your abstract according to APA guidelines.
Note that the attached articles are published articles that have been redacted for this assignment. Information identifying including the title, name of publication and author have been omitted. You do not have to include this information in the structured abstract. You may be tempted to try to find this article on an online source to retrieve the actual abstract. Do not do this: this is your opportunity to practice writing an abstract not to practice rewording the writing of another author.
