For this assignment, you need to find four sources for your final research essay. Three of these sources must be scholarly. At least ONE must be a counterargument. Create an annotation like the example below, for each of your four sources. (Example: Waite, Linda J.,et al. ‘nonfamily Living and Erosion of Traditional Family Orientations Among Young Adults.” American Sociological Review, vol. 51, no. 4, 1986, pp. 541-554. The authors, researchers at the Rand Corporation and Brown University, use data from the National Longitudinal Surveys of Young Women and Young Men to test their hypothesis that nonfamily living by young adults alters their attitudes, values, plans, and expectations, moving them away from their belief in traditional sex roles. They find their hypothesis strongly supported in young females, while the effects were fewer in studies of young males. Increasing the time away from parents before marrying increased individualism, self- sufficiency, and changes in attitudes as a result of nonfamily living. The source was published in the American Sociological Review which is peer-reviewed journal published by the reputable American Sociological Association; therefore, this source is both academic and credible. The authors also work at reputable institutions. The goal of the source is to inform its audience of the attitudes of young adults in relation to family living. i will use this source to support my claim that young adults need to be encouraged to live alone before marriage.
