Critical Analysis Essay Proposal
My scholarly text is an article called “Arthrofibrosis after ACL reconstruction is best treated in a step-wise approach with early recognition and intervention”. I found this peer-reviewed journal in the Baylor library online. I know this is a scholarly text because it is peer-reviewed and it was found in The Baylor online library. I chose the scholarly text to analyze because it has a lot of information in the article, and also there is a lot of statistics and case studies the author did in this source. My credible, non-scholarly text that I chose was a Youtube video called “Swelling and Scar Tissue-Knee Surgery Recovery” and in this video a lady is giving us information on knee swelling and how scar tissue forms after knee surgery making the recovery a lot more difficult. I know this is a credible source because the video is correlated to a website called www.x10therapy.com, and that shows that it is credible. Also a lady named Lisa Alarcon, Director of Physical Therapy is the one speaking in the video. I chose this credible source to analyze because it is very informative on what im dealing with, and how recovery with knee arthrofibrosis is very difficult, and the lady explains many different type of things that relate to the recovery and causes of knee swelling and stiffness. These texts relate to my specific research question because it explains the recovery of knee surgery if someone is dealing with arthrofibrosis. These sources appeal to me because I can relate to them because I am dealing with the problems that they are bringing up in the sources. Such as having arthrofibrosis and having too have more than 1 surgery because of all the scar tissue build up that is in my knee and the recovery is very difficult. These sources are connected with my inquiry essay because it shows the recovery process of someone with a stiff knee and all the other complications that can come with recovery even if the knee surgery was successful.
