Indeed, the hospital has been ranked the best in reducing racial health disparities, and this paper will provide a SWOT analysis of the hospital as it seeks to implement technological tools to continue its efforts toward minimal racial health disparities.
The healthcare sector stands to reap from technology in the future through the application of various innovations such as; artificial intelligence and machine learning, telemedicine and remote patient monitoring, precision medicine, and genomics (Alrahbi et al., 2019). Metropolitan Hospital has various internal strengths that will enable it to apply this technology. The first strength is the adequate supply of infrastructure and resources available to the hospital. The hospital possesses well-established infrastructure and resources such as modern medical equipment, IT systems, and healthcare professionals that will enable an easy transition (Flessa & Huebner, 2021). The clinical expertise of Metropolitan Hospital is among the best in the country, and this access to the vast pool of healthcare professionals as they provide crucial expertise in the application of innovations. Having such a pool of expertise leads to better decision-making regarding technological innovations and hence an effective integration into patient care (Alrahbi et al., 2019). Metropolitan Hospital has a record of massive research and development investments to improve patient care. Under this R&D department, the hospital has a team dedicated to exploring and implementing technological advancements in healthcare. This department fosters innovation and collaboration, enabling the hospital to stay up-to-date with the latest technological developments and actively contributing to advancing healthcare adoption.
However, Metropolitan Hospital still faces internal weaknesses that may impact its technological adoption. For instance, the hospital’s legacy infrastructure may impact its technology adoption. Still, Metropolitan Hospital is well-positioned to adopt these innovative technologies that will improve its patient care. Moreover, it will enable it to deliver better patient processes that will reduce racial health disparities, improving overall healthcare.
