Scenario
Due to your outstanding performance, the chief executive officer (CEO) of the American company you work for, which follows the Control Objectives for Information and Related Technologies (COBIT 5) framework, has specifically requested your involvement in developing a potential strategy for expanding the organization into Australia. The CEO believes that your skills and expertise make you a strong candidate for a future role as the Australia company’s chief financial officer (CFO), and this project could serve as a critical milestone to showcase your executive-level capabilities. The company has been performing well, with successful expansions into Western Europe over the past three years.

In the past, you have conducted analyses of regulatory frameworks, ethical standards, and operational strategies based on financial and operational data to advance the company’s strategic objectives. Now, the primary objective is to provide the most optimal recommendation. If the recommendation is not to pursue the expansion, you should explain the rationale behind this decision and outline any factors that could potentially reverse this recommendation. On the other hand, if the recommendation is to proceed with the expansion into Australia, you should outline the next steps for this initiative.

Directions
For this project, you will use the resource in the Supporting Materials section along with your prior knowledge to create a PowerPoint (using the Project Two Template) and deliver a video presentation to the board of directors that presents optimal recommendations using data-driven narratives. Utilize each PowerPoint slide to address each of the rubric criteria.

Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:

Determine which financial considerations weigh the heaviest in recommending options, considering the role of risk and task considerations with available options.
Propose data point-driven recommendations to pursue or not pursue expansion.

Create data visualizations (e.g., pie charts, bar graphs, line charts) to support data-driven narratives.

Identify trends or patterns through created data visualizations (e.g., pie charts, bar graphs, line charts) to support data-driven narratives.

Present optimal recommendations to address a diverse population.
Recommendations for improvements to accounting information system processes
Optimal tax planning strategies that improve future tax consequences
Describe how the proposed recommendations can strengthen the organization.
