This week we explore how individual states regulate the prescribing ability of APRNs. We will see that there is still a lot of variability by state and region of the country. It is essential that you know, understand, and correctly apply these regulations to protect yourself and your patients. This knowledge can also be a necessary consideration if you want to relocate at some point.
We will also discuss pain management and the use of opioids. The opioid epidemic is in crisis mode, and every prescriber and consumer of these powerful drugs needs to be responsible and knowledgeable. With these medications, addiction and abuse does not discriminate. There will be more of this content.
