Create a new source workbook and save it as [your initials] Excel 5-9. Modify your workbook according to the following guidelines:
- Name the sheet People.
- Select cell A3 and type the name of a well-known person. Consider naming a popular sports player, a movie celebrity, or a politician. Use people who are likely to have Wikipedia pages.
- Type the names of additional people in cells A4:A7.
- Select the names and apply the People data type.
- Review the data fields available and insert three columns of data about your names.
- Decide how to handle missing data or names that have no data. Change the names of fields as needed.
- Format your data as a table or apply borders and fill on your own.
- Analyze the steps that you followed to complete your People data. Then review the SmartArt categories to find a graphic to illustrate the steps.
- Place the SmartArt on its own sheet. Add or remove shapes as needed. Choose a style, change the colors, or add fill or a border. Size and position the graphic.
- Name the sheet SmartArt.
- Insert a hyperlink on your People sheet to display the SmartArt sheet.
- Mark the workbook as final.
