Having read Amos 5, go and read again the text of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s “I Have a Dream” speech at this hyperlink. (You can also listen to the speech at the link as well).
Using the computer command, CTRL-F (PC) or ⌘-F (Mac) search for each use of the word, “Justice” in the text of Dr. King’s speech. In a short paragraph describe where in the speech does Dr. King draw on the words of the prophet Amos? How do you feel that the times of the Prophet Amos were similar to those of Dr. King? How might Amos speak to our situation today?
