· Beware of oversharing.
· Think twice before friending.
· Be careful of third-party apps.
· Limit your LinkedIn info.
· Don’t link accounts.
· Career Application. Office workers and businesspeople are steeped in technology.
· Best practices are a key concern in IT and HR departments.

Student Assignment Directions.
Students are to consider the social media tips presented and write up a discussion from their point of view addressing the following items:

1. Using your own experience, students should add more suggestions that can make social media use safer.
2. What risky behavior have you experienced or observed?
3. What violations of decorum and civility have you witnessed?
4. Students are to prepare a list of additional helpful tips (5 minimum)
5. The assignment discussion is written in APA format, approximately 500-750 words in length. Use of outside sources is highly recommended for this discussion. An appropriate APA formatted list of references and in text citations are required.
