Abstract
DP Care Group is a UK-based social care services company that provides accommodation and support services to children, young adults, and adults with different care needs. As a growing organization, DP Care Group faces key challenges that impact its operations and ability to fulfill its mission of upholding family values. One major problem is the need for further business growth and revenue generation to ensure financial sustainability. Specifically, the goal is to attract an additional £4 million in revenue in 2024 to fund the expansion of services. Accomplishing revenue growth sustainably while preserving company values presents complex challenges around priority-setting, resource allocation, and scaling up staffing requirements without compromising care quality. Missteps during periods of intense, rapid growth destabilize organizational culture and operations. Another key issue is integrating a large influx of 40 recently hired staff members into the existing organizational culture and workflows. The significant influx of employees strains DP Care Group’s resources for recruiting, hiring, training, and integrating these individuals. Failure to properly onboard new staff risks decreased productivity and service quality, thus requiring thoughtful change management and leadership strategies. Research into organizational behavior theories around change management, culture development, leadership styles, and systems thinking will inform the analysis of these issues and the proposal of solutions tailored to DP Care Group’s unique needs and constraints. Further problems impacting a company’s operational efficiency, service delivery, staff retention, and other critical performance metrics may emerge upon deeper investigation using the theories and case studies explored throughout the course.
