PURPOSE
With new information continually emerging, professional nurses must be equipped to critique scholarly nursing research and discern its value for practice. The purpose of this assignment is to select one current scholarly nursing research article that addresses the PICOT question developed in Module 2 and determine its strengths, limitations, and potential application.
COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
Through this assignment, the student will address the following course learning outcomes:
• CO 1: Apply findings from research and/or evidence-based inquiry to foster positive health outcomes. (POs 1 and 5)
• CO 2: Select nursing interventions from research and/or evidence-based inquiry that create a caring environment in diverse healthcare settings. (PO 2)

• CO 4: Explain the role of ethics within research and/or evidence-based inquiry. (PO 5)
