Addiction Paper Assignment

Overview

This assignment is a good opportunity to explore a more specific topic with regard to substance abuse and addiction. It can give you a more in-depth look at a specific addiction or at a particular facet of addiction. 

Instructions

You will choose a specific substance of abuse/addiction (e.g., opioids, alcohol, cocaine, etc.) ORyou will choose a specific facet of addiction (e.g., neuro-chemical, behavioral, social, etc.), and complete a 3–5-page paper about the topic in current APA format 

This is a research paper, so make sure you construct and write it appropriately. You may choose any addiction or facet discussed in the course material.  If you are unsure of the appropriateness of a chosen topic, you should email the instructor for clarification.

Include at least three outside sources (not including the course textbooks) from current professional journals (published within the last 5 years). Your paper must include a title page and a reference page in addition to the 3–5 pages of text.  

Please note:  Generally, websites are not appropriate sources for a research paper.  You must use peer-review journals as your sources for this paper.
