Diverse Concetration

Question 1

Now that you have selected your area of diverse concentration, you are now tasked with designing a plan to aid your selected group in one of the following countries:

• China
• Japan
• Brazil
• India

The new organizational strategic initiative is to expand into the selected country. The executive leadership team has asked you for a report on the diversity area (the one you selected) and the country (selected above) expanding to. The report should address the following questions:

1. Introduce your diversity area and country
2. What are some of the challenges your diversity area would face in the country culture you selected?
3. Are there any ethical or legal implications that protect your diversity area in the selected country?
4. Discuss some techniques that as the manager you would use in order to ensure an inclusive work culture.
5. Conclude your diversity report.

Reflection statement: Human service work can be seen as an opportunity for social change or a means of maintaining social order. In this assignment, students will reflect on the above statement and consider the way in which they think about human service provision. Do you think providing human services is an opportunity for social change? or do you think providing human services is a means of maintaining social order or social control within society? In your reflection essay you may agree or disagree with either concept as long as you support your argument by including reference to:

1. your own values and the way your values have impacted on your view the world;
2. how dominant ideologies (as expressed by those in the media and politics) impact on the way human services are provided.
