Begin by further researching your chosen innovation in its context (era that the design innovation started) – extend from the course material delivered in this subject
Explore the key design examples that are significant to that particular time period and discuss their social & cultural context
Explore the lasting impact or legacy of the selected design innovation today
Compare it to a similar design innovation today
Consider the design impact value propositions, ability to galvanise community, design attributes (helping to improve quality of life), form identity, both group and individual

Your essay will be 1500 words and will include:

An introductory paragraph that outlines your discussion to follow with at least three key points you will address.
The body of your essay will address each of these three points, using appropriate paragraphs to separate each idea. You will include discussion of key historical components as well as any additional theories and design examples that may be relevant.
A concluding paragraph that will succinctly summarise everything you have just discussed and bring it to a concise point.
A reference list that includes every document you cite within your essay (do not include material in your reference list that you did not refer to in-text). This will be presented in alphabetical order adhering to the APA style of referencing (see the APA guide for more details). You should include reference material from at least 3books and 2 journal articles and integrate them in a meaningful way into your discussion to demonstrate your understanding and engagement. Note: this reference list is not included in your 1500-word count.
Your essay should use appropriate academic language and adhere to the referencing conventions of the design discipline (see APA Guide).
