Audience: You choose your audience. You will write to anyone (or anything) of your choice, real/imaginary, past/present/future, any creative option.

Format: a letter, like a letter of correspondence (ex. Dear…,).
Topic: As a novice Carbon Atom, you had quite an experience your first time through the carbon cycle. You met some interesting characters along the way, including other atoms, many different types of organisms, and even energy.
Your task: Choose a position (see table below for ideas) and write a letter to your audience, including items A-E (below).
• BE CREATIVE!! Think about what this atom would be experiencing and, if they could communicate, what would they say to their audience about what they’ve just been through.
• Your letter should: o describe your experience in a way that is consistent with the theme of your position; make the theme of your position clear. o include discussion of the following content items (not necessarily in this order!): A. Your matter/form (at each stage of the cycle) (For example/not limited to: Organic/Inorganic/CO2/Sugar/Protein/Fat/Nucleic Acid, ect…) B. Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration C.
