Business Plan

A complete business plan, per the instructions.

Create a Business Plan utilizing the concepts from chapter seven (7) of the Entrepreneurship text (Hisrich, Michael, & Peters, 2013).

Your business plan is to include the sections identified above, that were taken from the “Outline of a Business Plan”, found on page 195 (also attached at the end of this document) in your textbook. Note that I have not included sections V or VI, as I think those two sections will involve more time than you have in one semester to properly complete the assignment.

  1. Introductory Page: This may be accomplished in various ways. The example I have provided for your review submits the Introductory Page in the form of a letter. Again, do your research to determine which format works best for your business.
  2. Executive Summary: Do not scrimp on this section, but do not go overboard either. This section should be NOT MORE THAN ONE-HALF TO ONE PAGE. You have other sections to cover.

III. Industry Analysis: This will require research on your part. Please note that the focus of this section is on the industry of your business, not your business. Past students have missed the boat on this section and use it to further their discussion of Section II.

  1. Description of Venture: This is straightforward. However, to be clear: Most students base their project on EITHER a product OR a service, generally not both.

VII. Marketing Plan: I want to communicate to you that this is an important section and I will spend extra time on it.

VIII. Organizational Plan: Pay attention to this section because it will tell me whether or not you have communicated the ability to sustain a successful venture.

  1. Assessment of Risk: The best way I can tell you how to approach this section is to use the SWOT analysis. You may even want to use the PESTLE analysis in this section, depending on the type and size of your proposed business.
  2. Financial Plan: Again, this is a section that I will spend some time with, and so should you. For this section you are required to complete:
  3. Your assumptions
  4. The Pro forma income statement
  5. Cash flow projections
  6. Break-even analysis
  7. Appendix: This is where you will put any of your exhibits that you find useful to your project. And, OF COURSE, you need to provide the references from your research. References can ONLY be ones that are accessible through a website. Use MLA formatting.

This plan should be a minimum of 10 pages long not including the cover page and appendix.Bottom of Form
