Title: 13 Days: How did President Kennedy bring the Cuban missile crisis to a peaceful conclusion?
Font: Times New Roman or Constantia 12 point font. If you do not have Constantia font, then pick
something similar to Times New Roman. It must be a serif font. You can look up serif as well.
Length: Three Pages. This does not include your works cited list or bibliography. So with the bibliography
it will be four.
Spacing: MLA double spaced
Word Count: There needs to be two to three paragraphs on each page. A paragraph is five to eight
sentences long.
Format: MLA format. If you do not know this format, please ask your language arts teacher for help.
Sources: You can use any source on the internet, but you must use at least three different sources.

You’ll explain why it was effective and explain your position by using information from the movie, or
websites you obtain through your research. So, the question you are answering is: How did President
Kennedy bring the Cuban missile crisis to a peaceful conclusion?
You will use examples from the movie and your research to support this central question. Here’s how
you are to order your paper:
Introduction: Your first paragraph should explain what the Cuban missile crisis was. How the missiles got
there, who was involved and why it posed a threat to The U.S. . You are setting up your paper. You are
laying out the background to answer your central question.
Body: Your next three to four paragraphs should give examples of the effective decision making and
actions Kennedy engaged in that led the crisis to a peaceful conclusion. It is here that you are using your
research and viewing of the movie to support the central question.
Close: Your last paragraph should summarize and reinforce why and how Kennedy was able to reach a
peaceful solution to the Cuban Missile Crisis. You are reinforcing and bringing closure to the central
question.
