This assignment is designed to make you aware of the international business environment and its influence on multinational corporations. You will focus on a particular company (chosen from the company list on the next page), and write a report on how the company deals with the dynamic international business environment, which affects the company’s success and failure. Key to the report is that you must ask a research question (i.e., identify a strategic issue) related to the focal company’s global strategy. Exemplary research questions include:

The company needs to be well researched, and the assignment should be more than just a reproduction of secondary materials. Your task is to, based on the materials, identify what are the key factors in the international business environment that influence the strategic issue you identify for the chosen company. You must analyse the company’s strategies to address the opportunities and threats arising from the international business environment. Evaluate these strategies and provide your recommendations.

In this assignment, students are expected to demonstrate the link between course contents and the practical case/s presented. Therefore, it is important to discuss theoretical concepts and frameworks that are relevant to the case. It is expected you use academic journals when you use theoretical concepts and frameworks.
