LEARNING ACTIVITY #2: EARTH SCIENCE DISCUSSION

• Chapter 1 in The Heavens and the Earth textbook.
• Prepare to share in discussion the following points: Describe the contributions and interactions of the Earth’s four Spheres at the beach and shoreline.
• Read Genesis 1, then Psalm 104. These two beautiful passages describe creation in narrative and poetical styles. Explain how the two are similar in descriptions, terms, and order of events. Describe their differences in style and their discussion of creation.

LEARNING ACTIVITY #5: SCIENTIFIC METHOD PAPER

• Submission Item: Write a 1-2 page paper addressing the Scientific Method of problem-solving (see Chapter 1 in the course textbook)
• To achieve maximum points for content and analysis, the following elements need to be thoroughly addressed.
  • Describe the steps of the scientific method (p. 6-9).
  • Provide at least two cases or examples in which the scientific method has been used to discover valuable information that has aided human endeavors and improved the quality of life.
  • Analyze each case or example by describing how the case or example used each step of the scientific method to arrive at a conclusion. Be very specific, and include each step.

• Ensure that you have cited and referenced at least two scholarly sources.
