Understanding the relevance of psychological assessments is a vital skill for clinical practice as a doctoral-level behavioral health professional, as well as any legal, ethical, cultural, and practical considerations as part of the standard of practice.
Discuss your current understanding of the parameters of practice for psychologists with specialized training in psychological assessments. As such, present any ethical and legal considerations that must be reviewed before conducting a psychological assessment with a patient, including facets of diversity and addressing the reason for referral.
Compare and contrast your peer’s response with your own understanding or experiences, highlighting similarities and differences in approaches to addressing ethical, legal, cultural, and practical considerations in psychological assessments.
