Review the learning material and respond to the following prompts in your main discussion post. Be sure to support your opinion with learning materials or external resources.
In this Discussion Board, doctoral learners will become familiar with the research and clinical use of objective personality instruments to measure personality traits and assess for the presence of personality disorders.
Personality and emotional functioning can be evaluated using objective measures of personality. However, the MCMI and NEO have a specific focus on assessing personality traits, enabling the diagnosis of personality disorders. For this discussion, compare the strengths and limitations of the MCMI versus the Personality Assessment Inventory (PAI) and the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) in assessing personality disorders.
Please engage in critical thinking about controversies and supporting research about the use of the MCMI in professional psychology, as well as present either some additional questions, points of consideration, or respectful critique of another peer’s reply.
Discussion Requirements
