write a five page essay on one the following topics. It should be based on the textbook presentation but it must be in your own words. Cover the core topics at least.

1. Mutual Exclusion & Independence — from Chap. 3
2. Binomial Distributions — from Chap. 4
3. Central Limit Theorem — from Chap. 7
4. Chi Square — from Chap. 11
5. Analysis of Variance — from Chap. 13

You should write this up as a presentation which would be comprehensible to Statistics students.

You should write this up as a coherent essay explaining the topic logically. For this, you will need to use examples and develop them. Choice of examples is important. Simplicity and readability are essential.

You should word-process this paper. Use Word if possible.  Individual symbols may generally be found in the“Character Map” application which comes up under “Accessories/System Tools” in Windows. Use the “Symbol” font.

Research/writing assignment #2: The Misunderstood Child

1. Use the Internet to search for articles on the topic of the assignment (Google). You may change the wording of the search terms to find more articles. 2. For each assignment, write 200 words minimum (double­spaced, font size no more than 14 pt.) to include: a. A summary of the article: what were the main points of the article? What message was the author trying to communicate about the topic? b. A description of how the information in the article applies to your work with children; what is your opinion of the information? Why? Are you currently applying this information in your work? How? If not, will you? Why or why not? c. Accurately cite the resources/articles used for your assignment d. Grading will include correct spelling, grammar and punctuation, use of “quotation marks” for direct quotes from the articles, as well as format and content.
