Sourcing Analysis
When conducting international business, especially when it comes to apparel, it is crucial to keep in mind the three bottom lines; people, planet, and profits. We keep these factors in mind as it helps us to maintain social responsibility and awareness. Moreover, there are other important factors such as labor costs, infrastructure, and regulations that can make the decision harder. Developing contingency plans and establishing a clear supply chain make the global business run smoother and help ensure compliance at all levels of the supply chain so our team has embarked on a deep search to narrow down our choices and select the best sourcing partner for our soccer shoes. During the beginning stages of our research for imported footwear into the United States, we found that two main countries stand out: China and Vietnam. Following this discovery, we researched these countries’ production scale capabilities, their certifications, and their ability to adhere to ethical practices.
We were very interested in China at first as it stands out as a promising sourcing country due to its well-established and long-standing labor force.
