Overview: In today’s Big Data world, entire suites of tools have been created in order to store, manage, manipulate, and analyze data. In your professional field, you will encounter many of these tools. While the tools are of varying costs and have different functions, the goal is to aid in making informed decisions. In order to select the appropriate tool of form and function, you need to be able to conduct a tool analysis. In this course there are two tool analyses, in Modules Four and Eight. Tool Analysis One (Module Four) Complete the following exploration: Database Management Systems. Choose MySQL or Oracle and conduct some additional research. Complete the following:
- A summary of the tool, evaluating its functions
- The type of organization or industry that would benefit from this system (Large, global, and small are NOT sufficiently specific)
- An evaluation of the tool, describing its benefits and limitations and including answers to the following questions:
- What challenges would an organization face in using a database management system, especially challenges in data and information management?
- What is one problem that a database management system would not be able to solve? Explain.
