Do you agree with the death penalty or disagree and why? Do not write “this was a terrible crime and he should die!” Put some thought into your paper don’t just copy an article (Plagiarism) and give me 2 lines of something you just decided to write! Capital punishment is a hot topic and debates about it have been going on since the beginning of time. Use what you have learned and researched, ask your family and friends their thoughts and write a great paper.

The death penalty has been and will be a controversial topic for America. As we can see in Figure 20.4 Americans still favor the death penalty by a solid majority.

Search the Gale Criminal Justice Collection and find at least two articles – one in favor of, and the other opposed to the death penalty.

What are the arguments for both sides? What will be required to induce a significant change in public opinion?
