Present an integrated discussion on how the research literature supports conducting a culturally sensitive clinical interview or diagnostic interview for behavioral health providers as part of an assessment battery.
As the clinical intake is generally a semi structured interview, describe how practitioners ensure that they cover review of symptoms and the presenting problem criteria in alignment from the DSM-5-TR, while also ensuring to maintain a culturally humble stance as a provider of treatment and address any ethical concerns related to a clinical interview.
Distinguish and align approaches to data gathering via the clinical interview or diagnostic interview with your peers, and expand upon opportunities for challenges, differences, and similarities you have encountered in conducting a clinical interview or diagnostic interview as a burgeoning professional in the behavioral sciences. Present legal, ethical, and pragmatic considerations in your approach.
