In this project, you will demonstrate your mastery of the following competency:

Determine the extent to which preliminary data addresses an organizational challenge
Scenario
As a member of the analytics team, you have been asked a series of questions related to the overall health of your organization. You need to compile a brief report that includes visuals and descriptions. The questions are as follows:

Are there inventory trends that we should identify and monitor?
Which months have sales increased?
Which products produce the biggest revenue stream?
You have been provided with several data sources that will be helpful when addressing these questions. The data sources have already been loaded into Power BI. But first, you need to understand the data sets and how they relate to each other and to the questions asked of you.

Directions
For this project, you will provide a brief introduction and background surrounding the questions asked of you and the importance of the outcomes to the organization. You will share descriptive insights into your data set, definitions surrounding key variables, and key statistics (including visualizations) that you see as necessary for assessing the data set’s validity and ability to address the questions posed. Finally, you will recommend whether these data sets will provide enough insight to proceed with the analysis.

Create a preliminary assessment of the organizational challenge. For each topic, write one to two paragraphs that detail your findings. Specifically, you must address the following critical elements:

Determine whether preliminary data represents/identifies the organizational challenge.
Share insights into the importance of the questions posed and what variables you think would be insightful for answering them.
Determine if the data is relevant to the organizational problem. Data should be related to the problem being addressed. Describe your initial thoughts about the data set and how it does or does not solve the problem.
Examine the data set to determine whether the data is usable or able to be analyzed.
Leveraging Power BI, conduct a preliminary analysis of your data set. Describe the key variables and the descriptive statistics you see as being valuable to the analysis.
Include three visuals that display the make-up of specific variables. These would be distribution charts characterizing key variables.
Assess the preliminary data set for completeness and accuracy.
Examine the data set for fitness of use for answering the questions posed. While reviewing the data, determine if each data set meets the following criterion:
Are there data values that are missing or unusable?
Describe the importance of accurate data in relation to the organizational problems you are attempting to solve.
Describe situations in which found errors could have been introduced and how those situations could have been prevented after the merger.
Determine which data should be retained or analyzed to address the organizational challenge.
Determine what data you have and what you need from the data set. Some data may not be relevant to the situation, and some data may not specifically represent the problem being addressed. Identify what is missing within the data set that would fully address the organizational questions.
Describe the steps you need to take to properly prepare this data set to answer the organizational questions. Keep the following in mind:
Data that is not relevant to the problem
Data that does not represent the needs of this issue
Identify limitations for data usage regarding regulatory, ethical, and legal considerations.
Identify the limitations that apply to the data that you have or need. Some data may be illegal to share in certain situations, and some companies may have policies against sharing data across departments.
Consider the following questions:
Is the data required accessible for analysis?
Are there ethical reasons that prohibit the collection and storage of certain data?
Is it legal to share data or have specific required data given to a potentially varied audience?
