In Module 1 we learned about various molecular biology techniques that can be employed to learn more about cellular systems. This week will be discussing how DNA replication is intimately associated with the cell cycle.
While there are multiple checkpoints designed to prevent cells with damaged DNA from replicating, unfortunately, they are not always successful.

For this week’s discussion, find and analyze an original research (contains experimental data and is not a review paper) article that discusses a mutation of one of the many checkpoint proteins that may lead to the development of cancer. You can find many articles by using the databases below and searching for cancer AND your protein of choice. For example “cancer AND ras” or “cancer AND cdk2”

Week 3 Original Post – Choose an article and submit an original post that contains the following sections:

  1. Article link: Provide a link to the article or attach a complete copy of the article for your classmates.
  2. Citation: Give the complete APA citation for the article including title, author(s), date, publisher, etc.
  3. Summary: In your own words, summarize the main points of the article.
